About Legal Cell/Section:

BARTI is chief co-ordinate of District Cast Certificate Scrutiny Committee’s Maharashtra State, an Autonomous Institute of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtrain the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance Committee’s committed to the cause of equality and social justice through scientific research evaluation of schemes meant for socially disadvantaged sections policy training skill development etc.

The Legal Cell of BARTI represents the Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute,Maharashtra State,[BARTI] Pune.and all Scheduled Cast Social Justice and Special Assistance Committee’s that is i.e. situated at Pune, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nandurbar, Amravati, Nagpur, Gadchiroli such in all 36 District. A separate Legal Cell / Section has been established to look after the legal matters / cases of the institute and BARTI is chief coordinate of Cast Certificate Scrutiny Committee’s Maharashtra State which are filed before Honorable High Courts and Honorable Supreme Court. The Legal Cell works in close coordination with all the law officers within these committees and a legal team of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra.

Legal Cell / SectionInformation on BARTI work:

1) Provide legal advice [Abhipray] and guidance to the various departments under Chief Legal Adviser or BARTI.

2) Examining contracts [MOUs] signed by various research and training institute contractors with BARTI.

3) To provide legal guidance to the District Caste Certificate Verification Committees.

4) Monthly review of pending petitions [MPR] against Hon'ble Supreme Court and Hon'ble High Court against District Caste Certificate Verification Committees.

5) To send a proposal to the Government regarding the decision given by the Hon'ble High Court against the decision of the committee and to follow up with the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

6) To prepare drafts for amendment in the Act or Rules as per the changing times and send it to the Government for approval.

7) To pursue the claims of Hon'ble Industrial Court, Labor Court, Civil Court.

The Legal Cell has a dedicated team of law officers whose objective is superior proactive legal advice and similarly the cell also thrives to have an efficient and effective defense in litigation/Petition, which is consistent with Institute’s goals and policies.
