About the Department

As per the resolution passed unanimously in the Board of Governors meeting of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research And Training Institute, (BARTI), Pune dated 5th July, 2014 vide subject no. 20, Samtadoot project has been sanctioned consent. In accordance to the above decision “Samtadoot Pilot Project” is run by BARTI, Pune in the state of Maharashtra for 11 months time span to create consciousness, responsiveness and effective implementation of The Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989, to eradicate basically the caste bias system and the discrimination which follows it, to uproot the fundamental principles which creates casteism, ultimately leading to distress in society, and also to ascertain social equity and fraternity.

 

It is been considered that the social, educational and economical development cannot be achieved until and unless there exists a social perceptive, fraternity and social equity amongst the community. As indicated in the Constitution of India by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar it is of immense importance to furnish all relevant information of the fundamental principles of justice, liberty, equity, equality, fraternity etc and The Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989,  in order to spread wakefulness in every strata of society. Therefore this is the main objective behind implementing Samtadoot Project.
