About the Department
Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Memorial located in Mahad, district Raigad, was established by Government of Maharashtra. Mahad is known as Kranti Bhoomi because of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s struggle for human rights, his Satyagraha at Chavdar Talab, also known as Satyagraha of Mahad. This memorial is maintained by BARTI. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s memorial at Yeola, Nashik is also maintained by BARTI.
Auditorium
Sitting capacity of 1,019 has been maintained in good condition

Many programs have already been conducted. There is always a high demand for the auditorium facility.
Museum
Visitors from India and abroad visit the Museum which has rare photographs and artefacts on the works of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Special attractions are wooden replica of Deekshabhoomi Smarak and Lord Buddha’s full size statue procured from Thailand.
Museum is currently open to public from 7.00 AM – 7.00 PM.
Multipurpose Hall
Multipurpose Hall is in an excellent working condition and currently rented out for conducting socio-cultural events.
Conference Hall
Conference Hall is currently used by various government officials including MIDC officials for meetings
Seminar hall
Of the 6 Seminar Halls, one Hall has been engaged for conduction of batches of training and coaching programs for IBPS Banking Exam aspirants.
More than 100 participants have attended the IBPS Coaching Program which was held at the facility.
Library
Library currently has a stock of about 10,072 books. Books on various research topics and competitive exams preparation are also available in the library.
Library Management System has already been procured and is functional.
IBPS Coaching Classes
Dr.Babasaheb National Memorial Mahad is the only place at Mahad where awareness regarding MPSC/UPSC/IBPS/Various competitive exams is given to the students.
Residential facility
There are has a residential facility. Intends to setup a world class residential facility at the memorial to targets the affluent and high spending corporates and ensure a comfortable stay. Of the residential rooms BARTI Plans convert two rooms into super Deluxe and the Rest 10 rooms as deluxe rooms.
Dining and kitchen facility is to be up graded and made equivalent to five star facilities.
Swimming pool
The dimensions of swimming pool are 25 m * 13 m. BARTI has two proposals commercialization of swimming pool are to be evaluated. Servicing of water filtration plant is currently underway. Currently an open air pool BARTI intends to beautify and enhance the exteriors with a roof for better aesthetics and convenience.
Skill Development
Setting up of a facility for Skill Development trainings for relevant in demand job roles.
Vipassana Meditation Centre
We Have started the 10 Day Residential Vipassana Meditation Courses affiliation with Vipassana Research Institute,Igatpuri, for the Government officials as well workers to enhance the efficiency
