Namdev Shivaji Togre

Words are always shown poor approximation to what someone conveyed. My name is Mr. Namdev Shivaji Togre and I’m the recipient of the Babasaheb Ambedkar National Research Fellowship (BANRF) for Ph.D. of 2015 batch. My native place is Jalkot in Latur district, MS, India. Where I born and brought up in socially and economically backward family. As a high school student in a small village, I always dreamed of becoming a research scientist. My parents did lot of struggle and untold sacrifices not only to educate but also to make me a responsible person. But after the sad demise of my father, I have accomplished/pursued my higher studies with help of my aunt and uncle and own efforts. It was very difficult to go for Ph.D. without any financial support and when it was needed, I was honored to receive said scholarship. I am grateful for this granted opportunity as it provided me thought-out strong financial backbone for my doctoral study. During the last month, I have submitted my Ph.D. thesis entitled “Assessment of immunomodulatory effect and therapeutic potential of filarial proteins against experimental colitis” to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur for an award. During this study I’ve got a chance to work directly with the renowned faculties and research professionals in the field of Biochemistry, some of them are late. Dr. Nirmalendu Nath, late. Dr. MVR. Reddy, Dr. Mandakini Patil, Dr. Kalyan Goswami, Dr. Shaymasundar Bandopadhay and so on. I have published and presented my doctoral work at a national and international platform. I have also been awarded with ‘Best oral paper award, at national conference held at JIPMER, Pondicherry. Without a doubt, this scholarship has played a key role in achieving my educational dreams. Because of Barti’s liberality, the financial burden placed on me to pursue my education was reduced. Only because of this I have spent more time on my studies, research and extracurricular activities and less time worrying about my finances. Also, valuable support from the Research Department staff of BARTI throughout this period makes me obliged. Now I’m trying to peruse post-doctoral study from foreign institute. Thank you for your support and making the futures of students like me.
